Morini Ditech question

Postby tbh37620 » Mon Apr 24, 2017 4:04 pm

Hello again guys, can anyone confirm for me that "normal" non-Ditech carbureted cylinder kits can be swapped onto the 2003 era Aprilia/Morini Ditech engine? And if so, what version cylinders or what other style of non-Ditech bike should I search for? Piaggio cylinders, AM6, Horizontal Minarelli, Etc?

Thanks for any help,

The Morini ditech is an odd duck. Piaggio parts certainly do not interchange with the Ditech - there is a different stud pattern on the block, as well as different bore/stroke, etc. You can do a carburetor conversion - but I haven't done that on a Morini and can't speak from experience on it. There is a guy local to me that has one that's converted. His stock Kymco People 50 is faster.
