I hope your going to run a bigger and better airfilter on that beautiful engine, with the inlet length a airbox that dosent touch the ram tube would work very well. My work on the engine dyno with high end car engines showed the clearance around the outside of the ram tubes to be critical 1.5 x D is the figure i use.

Cant wait to see video of this work of art in full flight. :D

Thanks for the kind words.
We hope to build some sort of intake airbox.. partly to protect the twins in case of a NOS backfire or to keep any fuel standoff from blowing back on them lol. Its going to be a challenge with not a whole lot of room to work with but it lets me get creative

A little progress... made up the front upper piece of the fairing from some ABS. Mounted the MSD ign and coil.
Pretty much have the exhaust figured out.. used stainless 1.5 and 1.625 tubing. Still need to map out the cam timing events before I can plug the numbers into the formula to find a starting exhaust pipe length. Would be nice of those Taiwanese cam grinders would furnish cam specs. My guess is if they dont give you numbers you cant see how far off they are

First NASRA race is this weekend so I dusted off the silver minerelli scoot. We were running a too small 28mm carb last year.. from all the formulas I could find about 32mm would be ideal but all I had bigger was a 30mm Keihin so on it went. Made a few test runs on the road and it leans out towards the end of the 1/8th even with a vacuum fuel pump. I played with the float setting with only minor improvements. So for a quick fix I added more fuel volume to the bowl. This seems to work for now untill I get the new motor installed and can come up with a better system.

Raced this weekend at Northern MI Dragway... very scooter friendly track! Let us bracket race against the cars :D Also let us make time runs between rounds and had a few hours of open track before the races. Sunday was more of a test and tune and we got in around 25 plus passes over the weekend. Was great to finally get to tune the silver scooter and we worked it down to a 8.8 @ 74 mph by the last pass. I know it can go faster but the summer is short and I want to get some time with the new motor so its coming out and moving to spare status.

Did you sort out the problem re leaning out, after all?

What was the method of securing the extra fuel reservoir to the fuel bowl as per your pics?
I'm thinking bonded (?). What bond?
If welded.....dang that's clean!

Rob :)

Yea its good old JB weld.. seems to be holding up fine. I thought about welding it but its just too close to the sealing area were the o ring groove is. And yes we had no fuel or any other issues... wait the plug wire fell off on one run.. lol.
