Thanks to Rhett (trafficjamz) for getting this put together and inviting us. My first time at a scooter drag - what an eye-opener. Some serious machines here. Certainly would have been nice to have better weather (windy, cloudy, 45 degrees), but glad to see a decent turnout.

Several SI members were there - Ottoman (nice to meet you and your son; your scoots were a thing of beauty and function), Greg531, Scootstains, myself, and of course Trafficjamz.

It was a blast to run my girly Yesterday against some of the GRSC "fast" street bikes, but those drag scooters are something else! Does this put ideas in my head?

A couple of pics of Ottomans scoot. On his last run it was 8.8 at almost 75mph in the 1/8 mile as I recall......

Some of the GRSC crew out for bragging rights!

I wish I could've been there. There should be a next time, right?

Great work! Looked a blast! And you can run a full 1/4 there right?
The CVT is seriously underestimated by some!

I was told it was a 1/4 mile track but there was some legal issue with the power lines on the top end of the track so rather than shut it down they went to a 1/8th mile only.

I highly recommend racing here as they are very receptive to scooters and they let you make way more passes than Brown county does :D Plus there is a good local scooter crowd racing.

PM Tuning. He has a shop in GB that specializes in Gilera that he works with, but I can't recall the name.

Whitey has a full on PM tuning 172cc kit and crank/360 pipe. He gets his parts from psn tuning. Hes got more bits on the way. Another thing worth mentioning about his bike is that he hasn't really tuned it that much. He matched the "guts", but hasn't played too much with jetting or dialing in roller weights(i dont think). His scooter has a lot of potential left in it.
I asked him how the track day went, and he went directly into saying there were some really fast scooters there. I expected to hear some bragging about his times, but he went right into talking about others. I think he said his best unofficial time was under 10 seconds.
Good intensions, poor results.

Good story with his too. He found it on craigslist fully pimped with malossi 172 stuff, drove from Michigan to Jersey, bought it without riding it for just about $2k. Super cheap!
