Regarding crank case volume and crank designs.. We have built a couple A/C iron stroker engines with 49cc cases. On one we chose a full circle crank with stuffer plates 45mm stroke (my 103), on the other we chose a 42mm stroke crank, open crank OEM style. Both using 54mm bore cylinders.
I honestly think they like more crank case volume...
We are trying a new intake style on mine. It allows much more crank case volume as it moves the reedblock about 4 inches off the cases. Also running a bigger carb. My results will come with round 2 of the NASRA bracket series.
Wish i had a dyno to test this stuff! I just use my ass and a 1/8mile drag strip
