Wow. That looks and sounds like an awesome project! Do you have a few more photos of the engine?

Re: Derbi GP1 for Track Use

Oh, I almost forgot to mention! I kept the exhaust that Daniel and I built for the Derbi. Shamefully it's not 100% complete, but a lot of the hard work is done. I can't wait to test that exhaust to see if it was a success or failure in making more power. Based on Daniel's experience testing and tuni...

Re: Derbi GP1 for Track Use

Dear Everyone, It is acceptable to me if you digitally yell at me for my actions. I sold the Derbi to a buddy in Greensboro. I did this because I got a really really sweet deal on a Vespa ET2 - which is what I was actually looking for when I bought the Derbi in the first place. I'm taking the Derbi ...

Re: RIVA/JOG 50 VERT MINARELLI PROJECT

Hey guys, and welcome to the forum Smokey! I'm trying to pop in around here more often. :) Sorry for my absense. If I catch more time to write, I will make another post on this thread trying to help answer a few of the other things mentioned by our OP. That jog is indeed a vertical Minarelli. A lot ...

Needle seat under microscope.

Hey gang, Recently I was doing some work on a 1979 Vespa and I took a couple of photos that I thought would be fun to share. I was having a lot of trouble with fuel leaks on account of a bad needle and seat. I had a spare from one of my Vespa engines laying around, so I closely inspected both. To th...

Re: Downsizing my company. Here's why.

Oh, hey for the GRSC forum - I used PHPBBServices.com, and was extremely satisfied with Mark's services. In fact, I am hiring the him again soon to help update the scooterinvasion.net forum. Eventually, I would like to get ahold of the old school forum crew and see if we can organize a real race - T...

Re: Downsizing my company. Here's why.

Hey Dan,

Thank you for writing! The decision to make these changes didn't come easy, but it is allowing me the kind of flexibility with my shop that I can really flourish with - and keep my family first. I can't wait to show all my Scooter Invasion crew what I've been up to in the shop.

Downsizing my company. Here's why.

I have been absent from the forum for quite a while. I apologize. Life over the past 4 years has been tough. That said, I have made some big-deal decisions about my small scooter repair shop, and in my personal life as well. Anyway, here is the statement I released the other day: Friends, The future...

Re: Derbi GP1 for Track Use

Thats so cool, I was staring at my exhaust asking the same question with the limited amount of racing exhausts there are for the S9 and some models. I saw you started preferring Arrow exhausts. many companies claim racing performance, but are more like plug and play sports stuff. I got annoyed wast...

Re: Cheapass Naked X8R

I agree, the frame on that bike is pretty neat! Polishing the aluminum would be a lot of work, but if you are into shiny things, go for it!

Thank you for sharing your project.

Spam Countermeasures...

Hey guys,

I apologize for the spam. I have been inactive for a long time (explanation coming in another thread), and I was very frustrated to see that we're being over run by spam bots again. I'm working on it...

Re: Winston salem riders?

It's been a long time since I rode to Winston Salem. There are several Winston riders on the forum, but they are likely not checking in often. If you get a ride together, be sure to post it up so us out-of-towners can possibly join!

Re: Best way to secure a Burgman 400?

Maybe you could put your anchor down and then somehow attach a big road cone or a sign that reads "reserved" or somesuch. I know that wouldn't prevent some people from stealing the spot anyway, but it's worth a go!
